The diving places
Overview
Here is a small overview of over 23 Dive Sites. This where our diving school starts.
Balicasag
Balicasag lies to the west of Panglao an approximately 30 min boat trip from Danao Beach. There is also a resort restaurant
on this island. Snorkelling is also a great experience on Balicasag. All around the island one can find wonderful diving places.
Black Forest Balicasag
A flat sloping bottom with very beautiful black corals, (in reality they are light green to yellow). Here, one can be eer with the
local Napoleon fish and with luck some big schools of Mackerel and Barracudas. Sometimes one will see many schools in a single dive. The reef edge is full of small colorful fish.
Balicasag Navy Sanctuary
A terraced wall in the west of the island provides an unbelievable diving experience in middle of a gigantic Jackfish school. Also Grouper are present.
Heaven Balicasag
A terraced wall, drift dive area. Beautiful corals and a good cathedral cave can be found here. From time of time, one also
finds turtles, sharks and Napoleon fish here.
Arco Point
15 minutes from Danao Beach is the Arco Point. It is flat diving place maximum 25m with a steep wall and a sand area at
the bottom. There a small cave with a school of Cardinal with fish in it. One can discover Dwarf Frogfish and beautiful Flat
Worms as well as Sea Slugs. If no other divers are to be found there, one can explore this cave in isolation. At the entrance of the cave, Moray Eels and Snake Eels are to be found.
Jeepney
15 minutes of the Danao Beach, the Jeepney wrecks speak for themselves. A diving place falls away to a 25m wall
saturated with cup corals. The visibility is excellent over the white sand surface. At the end of the dive, one finds two
Jeepneys lying at 12 and 8m deep. It is a paradise for macro photographers. The best depth is 15m
Kalipayan / Alona Beach
10 minutes with the boat from the Danao Beach is Kalipayan. It is flat diving place, maximum 25m deep. Steep walls
alternate with sand. Beautiful corals and virtually always a group of Bat fish are to be found here as well as Red Fire fish and
diverse Sea-Slugs. A glance over the Reef top provides many surprises with robust Gostpipe fish and in the somewhat deeper area, two big Stonefish. This place also is very suitable for good night diving.
Habagat wreck
5 minutes of the Danao Beach with the boat lays the Habagat wreck, an outrigger boat. To be found at depths between 35
and 38m are Red Fire fish here, as well as Dragon Heads and also a Frog fish.
Downfalls Tree
A dive where one can marvel at the beauty of a 40m wall. Hard corals in different colours blends with assorted soft coral for
half of the dive. Afterwards, a gigantic field with whip corals follows mixed with soft coral on a big sand place. A gaze into the blue water always is worthwhile at this dive. Best depth 20m.
Puntod
Also, 30 minutes of the Danao Beach with the boat lays Puntod. It has wonderful steep walls with Gorgonians and soft corals,
Mackerel, Squid and from time to time Water Snakes.
Doljo
This place is about 40 min away by boat from Danao Beach. This diving place is sheltered from the strong South west wind
by virtue of its northerly position. Begin the dive at the steep slope. Here, Giant Gorgonians are at 35m deep. Then continue
the dive after a rapid ascent to approximately 10-15m. Here, also two Giant Frogfish were discovered which very well
camouflaged lurking for food. It is on this occasion a yellow one and a black one. With some luck, you find also sharks in the somewhat deeper area.
Napaling
Napaling is 30 minutes of the Danao Beach by boat. This is a steep wall dive with big Gorgonians and black corals. Also a
school of Barracudas or Jack fish is from time of time to be found here. At the end of the reef, beautiful table corals are to be found with a variety of small fishes and a Moray Eel.
Cabilao
Cabilao Island lies to the north of Panglao in the Strait of Cebu. From the Danao Beach, one must expect a 2 hour trip with
the boat. Here, on Cabilao are special sea creatures to be found like: Pegasus, Seahorses and Stargazer.
Lighthouse Cabilao
A wall down on 25m, after it a plateau followed by a new wall. There is a strong current here. In the winter (Dec) April,
meetings with sharks are possible including Hammer-head and White-Tipped reef sharks. Barracuda and Jack fish schools
are also to be found. An immeasurable pleasure is one week on Cabilao. The Dive Guide Bobet finds all the Ghost pipefish,
Pegasus, would indicate interesting crabs, Seahorses and most different slugs. Simply ask the instructor to show you the
Pygmy Seahorses that live in the Gorgonian Sea fans. Night dives here are a special experience. Devil fish, Dragonheads and Stargazers are to be found in the sand here.
South Point
A terraced wall covered with hard - and soft coral. Gigantic table corals are to be found on the reef top. There is a wonderful
underwater landscape, particularly on the reef top.
